In light of recent media reports regarding acupuncture, we would like to inform you that we, as the board, have taken immediate action on this matter. We have deliberately chosen not to react impulsively or to “shoot the pianist at random.”
Our focus is not on making hasty statements or singling out a single person to blame, but on addressing the situation in a thoughtful and serious manner. That is why we are currently working with the other professional associations and our attorney to draft a well-reasoned opinion piece. We want to address this issue thoroughly and professionally, so that we not only respond to the current debate regarding reimbursement for acupuncture but also tackle the underlying issues.
Our goal is to develop a strong and widely supported position that will also be presented to the media in the near future. We therefore ask for your patience for a little while longer. We can assure you that the board is currently working very intensively on this and is treating this matter with the necessary seriousness. We will, of course, keep you informed.
