Acupuncture, as a non-conventional medical treatment (like osteopathy, chiropractic, and homeopathy), is partially reimbursed within your health insurance fund’s supplementary health insurance. This means that you, as a patient, receive partial reimbursement
for a limited number of treatments from your health insurance fund. The amount reimbursed per treatment and the number of treatments covered vary from fund to fund. It’s best to contact your health insurance fund or the secretariat of the Belgian Acupunctors Federation for more information.
Insurance companies sometimes also contribute to the cost of acupuncture treatment, in addition to the benefit you receive from your health insurance fund (pre- and post-hospitalization, sports or occupational accidents).
Please inquire with your insurance company about the policy terms and conditions.
